With Training Camp approaching quickly, the 2025 New York Jets season is starting to come into focus. Preseason games are just a month away, with the season opener at MetLife Stadium on September 7th marking the end of the long wait for football.

The Jets’ 17-game schedule includes a number of mouth-watering matchups, from division rivals to overseas excursions. Let’s take a look at five games worth marking on your calendar now.

Week 1 – New York Jets vs Pittsburgh Steelers – Sunday 7th September – 6pm BST

Just the words ‘home opener’ are enough to make this an exciting date for Jets fans, but this particular matchup comes laden with must-see storylines.

It’ll be a first start in green and white for new Jets quarterback Justin Fields, and against his former team at that. Fields went 4-2 as the Steelers starter in 2024 and will no doubt be keen to make a major impression in front of his new home crowd.

On the other side, a familiar face for Jets fans. Aaron Rodgers will make his MetLife Stadium return, this time in the black and gold of the Steelers in his first game for his own new team. After spending two seasons as his teammates, the Jets defence will be tasked with stopping the future Hall of Famer instead.

Alongside all of that, it’ll be Aaron Glenn’s first game as the Jets new head coach, and a chance for fans to see what the 2025 iteration of the team will look like. At the UK-friendly start time of 6pm, this is a Sunday well worth keeping free.

Week 4 – Miami Dolphins vs New York Jets – Tuesday 30th September – 12:30am BST (Monday Night Football)

After two years of primetime-heavy schedules, the Jets get a break from the consistent late-night matchups in 2025, with a whopping 13 games kicking off at 1pm ET and just two in the traditional primetime slots.

The first of those two comes in week four, when the Jets travel to Miami to take on their division rivals on Monday Night Football. The team will no doubt be relieved to avoid an early season afternoon matchup in the Miami heat, although fans in the UK will need to be savvy about their sleep schedule in order to watch along.

The reward for the late-night viewing though is an enticing divisional game against a Dolphins team keen to return to winning ways after missing the playoffs in 2024. The Jets beat the Dolphins in the final matchup of the season in January, ending a four-game skid against their rivals, and a victory on national television in Miami could be a signature early moment for Aaron Glenn’s new look squad.

There is history in this matchup too. 25 years ago, the Jets famously came back from a 30-7 deficit in the fourth quarter of a Monday Night Football matchup in Miami, eventually earning the win 40-37 in overtime. The game has gone down in Jets folklore as the ‘Monday Night Miracle’, and is widely viewed as one of the most unlikely comebacks in NFL history. Could the Jets find some similar magic of their own a quarter of a century later?

Week 6 – New York Jets vs Denver Broncos – Sunday 12th October – 2:30pm BST (London Game)

You knew we had to include this one! The Jets will make their third foray to London in five years and fourth visit ever, but for the first time they will be the designated (home) team in the country’s capital.

Remarkably, it will be the sixth consecutive season in which they will play the Denver Broncos, with the team’s fortunes mirroring one another at various times in recent years. The 2025 Broncos come into the season with high expectations, having earned their first winning record since 2016 at 10-7 last year behind rookie quarterback Bo Nix.

For fans here in the UK and Ireland, the matchup represents an exciting chance to get together and watch their team in action. Alongside the on-field drama at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, we are planning a number of exciting fan activations in the days leading up, with further details to be announced in the coming weeks.

Week 12 – Baltimore Ravens vs New York Jets – Sunday 23rd November – 6:00pm GMT

The Jets fourth and final matchup with AFC North opponents will arguably be their toughest, as they travel to M&T Bank Stadium to take on the back-to-back division champion Baltimore Ravens.

Victors in only 2 of their 12 previous matchups, the Jets will need to be at their very best to get a result out of this game. At this point in the season however, the landscape of the league will have settled down a little and if the Jets find themselves in playoff contention then there will be fewer tougher tests than this one.

Leading the way for Baltimore will be Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, who lead a potent air and ground attack that presents a unique challenge to the Jets defence. On the other side of the ball, things don’t get much easier, with Kyle Hamilton and the newly acquired Jaire Alexander leading a ball-hawking secondary.

A stern test for any team looking to prove their credentials in a loaded AFC conference.

Week 17 – New York Jets vs New England Patriots – Sunday 28th December – 6:00pm GMT

The Jets finish their season with back-to-back divisional matchups, starting with a home finale against the Patriots and ending with a trip up to Buffalo to take on the Bills.

The first of the two could serve as a good barometer for the Jets season as a whole, with the Patriots likely entering the season with similar hopes and expectations for their team in 2025.

With quarterback Drake Maye entering his second season, the Pats will hope for a step forward in performances after going 4-13 in 2024, as a young roster looks to establish itself in much the same way that the Jets will look to build around their core.

Whether this game has playoff ramifications or not, Jets fans will always be keen to put one past their old enemies, making this a late-season game to keep an eye on as the 2025 campaign progresses.

There are plenty more eye-opening matchups on the schedule below, let us know which games you’ll be tuning in for, whether from overseas or thanks to a trip out to the US!
