The New York Jets fell to 1-2 in week three, dropping an entertaining game against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. Down two touchdowns early in the fourth quarter, Geno Smith led two touchdown drives, tying the game on a two-point conversion to Sterling Shepard. The Lions responded with a touchdown of their own to retake the lead, with the Jets falling short on their final drive as a sack-fumble on Smith ended the contest.

Garrett Wilson and Kenyon Sadiq impressed on offense, both passing the 100 yards receiving mark and finding the end zone. Sadiq collected NFL Rookie of the Week honours for his performance, becoming the first Jets rookie tight end to get to 100 yards and a score since 2008.

Their challenge doesn’t get much easier this Sunday, as they travel to Chicago to take on the Bears. Despite an injury to starting quarterback Caleb Williams, the Bears impressed on Monday night, defeating the Philadelphia Eagles 27-7 behind a strong performance from backup Case Keenum. The Jets will need to put the veteran quarterback under pressure on Sunday to even up their record at 2-2.

The good news for fans in the UK and Ireland is that this year’s schedule is particularly kind for an international viewing audience from a time perspective. The Jets have 14 games scheduled for the 1pm Eastern time slot, including the first 10 weeks of the season, meaning perfect evening viewing hours for fans on this side of the pond. Even the ‘late’ kickoffs in weeks 11 and 15 will be at sleep-schedule friendly times of 9:05pm GMT, meaning plenty of chances to watch the team live.

Fans are also blessed with a number of different ways to tune into Jets action all season, so even without a London game to attend they can remain as close to the team as ever.
